The Academic Program
Pediatrics (PED) is the specialty of medical science concerned with the
physical, emotional, and social health of children from birth to young
adulthood. The discipline deals with biological, social, and environmental
influences on the developing child and with the impact of disease and
dysfunction on development.
The Department of Pediatrics offers specialty training for the medical
student, as well as post-MD residency training and subspecialty experience.
