test in the appropriate language; those with no background must come to
the department office for a brief interview. A grade of C or better is
required in the prerequisite courses for continuation.

EALL 364 20th-Century Literature by Chinese Women
(3) A survey and critical examination of contemporary Chinese women
writers from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. This course traces a
genealogy of women’s writing from the early 1920s up until now through
novels, poetry, drama, and film. Pre: one of 363, ENG 250, WS 151, or WS
