Chancellor's Message

On behalf of the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, I am pleased to introduce you to the 2007-2008 General Catalog. Within these pages, you will find a wealth of information to assist you on your academic journey. From admission, registration and academic advising information to detailed course descriptions, program information and graduation requirements, this comprehensive book will provide you with the tools you need to chart your course toward a degree in your chosen field.

With close to 90 bachelor’s degrees, more than 85 master’s degrees, over 50 doctorates, and first professional degrees in law, medicine and architecture offered, you will be amazed by the rich diversity of academic resources available to you in a host of disciplines.

With their aid, you will learn about your options, the rules and procedures of your chosen college, and milestones that ensure steady travel through your educational experience.

Since our founding in 1907, the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa has had the privilege of educating five generations of families.
